WAKE WARS

Held in the Menlyn Shopping centre arena in Pretoria on the 28th and 29th of March. The event was put on by Base 3 and XS promotions. As well as wakeskating the event also featured an amateur skate comp and board sports exhibition stands. The arena was filled with eager spectators as the riders pitted themselves against the shallow water and weighty sliders. The riders were pulled the length of the inflatable ponds by the powerful 131 Tugbox reaching speeds of 35 km/h, fast enough for the wakeskates to plane and the riders to execute a variety of tricks.
